Communicate by a Tactical Radio
IMI Description
The Communicate by a Tactical Radio (SINCGARS RT-1523) IMI will allow the student to perform Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) communication procedures using the RT-1523E Radio. The IMI consists of 3 lessons and a validation lesson. The first lesson will familiarize the student with proper tactical radio etiquette such as understanding the use of the phonetic alphabet and numbers. The second lesson will familiarize the student with proper format and transmission of a voice message. The third lesson will familiarize the student with the radio buttonolgy, menu options of the radio, and the procedures to operate the radio in non-secure single channel mode and secure frequency hopping mode. The validation lesson will allow the student to demonstrate their ability to operate the radio in both the non-secure single channel mode and secure frequency hopping mode. The validation lesson offers little assistance, so the user can test their skill level.
Target Audience
This IMI was designed for BOLC, but it is available to all users.
